V0.22 : iOS textView and android styled controls

Post by splash21 » Sun Sep 11, 2011 9:21 pm

V0.22 supports the native iOS multiline text field (UITextView) and also has the first batch of android styled controls :D

You can download from http://mobgui.com or use the 'Updates' button on the plugin menu bar.

I uploaded a stack called 'finger' some time ago to RevOnline. One of the things in the stack is a text field scrolling inside a group with bounce effect. It actually runs OK on the android simulator on my machine, but I'd be interested to hear what it runs like on an actual android device - would it be worth while building this into the plugin to give android the scrolling fields?

I'd be very interested in trying it on my Android tablet. I've tried 4 different scrolling scripts so far, some with bounce and some without, and none are smooth. Some of it is the low quality of my tablet, but probably there are a lot of people out there with older phones running Froyo like I am. I found "finger" on RevOnline but it won't download. (Well, it says it downloaded but I don't see it, it isn't in the mainstacks, and it isn't on disk.) So if you could put a link to a copy on your server I'll grab it there and let you know. I really would like to see a smooth scrolling script on Android.

As long as I'm here -- one thing that would be nice for MobGUI is if it would delete all its globals when the plugin closes if that's possible. They tend to use up a lot of space in the variable watcher when I'm debugging. Also, since I'm bugging you, Froyo's colors are a little different than Honeycomb's. Some things like progress bars are orange instead of green. It isn't a big deal since it isn't hard to change the color via script in my stacks. Just saying. ;)

I should get my head around MobGUI. I've followed it with interest but haven't implemented it in any stacks. There are some parts I don't understand how to work with yet.
