USB XCMD?

I want to try to read from a USB connected, RFID reader (it's a mir:ror, see <http://www.violet.net/_mirror-le-premie ... -rfid.html>). Is there a USB XCMD out there somewhere? or am I wrong to look that way and is there another way to read from a USB port?
Thanks for your help!

Hi
Sorry to dash your hopes of a more helpful reply...
I am a complete newb with runrev(aka live code)

But, my interest point is also RFID :D :-)

I hope to develop an app that uses RFID for data gathering in a vertical market, no need to data store on the chip, I simply want to sense proximity. I am hoping to get some solid API help from the hardware supplier we ultimately go with and was looking to communicate with anyone who has experience hooking up any external hardware with runrev. Examples, tutorials, whatever can be shared would be great and RFID experience would be fantastic!
Thanks in advance

Most of the usb rfid readers I've seen have a simple interface that emulates a serial port. If you're working with one of those (highly recommended) then you don't need a special driver at all. Just use rev to talk to the serial port.

thanks ... that was my first message on this board... encouraging :) it works!
I checked out the "mirror" product mentioned in the first post in this thread. Looks pretty cool, and for my purposes, perhaps they will have a more industrial version.
Again thanks for the prompt reply

Does anyone care to make any recommendations or share experience with the USB versions of RFID?

"Just use rev to talk to the serial port."

Well, I'm stuck on the "Just", as cannot for the life of me
seem to be able to "talk" to any serial port: mainly because the "Just" involves
knowing what to call the serial port.
