Hello,
I'm looking into making the leap from FileMaker to LC. I have a FM solution that I've developed and sell. It started building it in 2008 and it has grow with much input from my users. I'd like to hire a experienced LC developer to have a conference with, where we would look at my solution in detail and see if it's possible to create the same, or a close clone of it in LC.
If you are interested please reply to discuss your rate and availability.
Thanks
Vincent

HI Vincent - and welcome to the forums.
I'm sure there are devs here than can help - but can you clarify:
is this a standalone FMPA app with self-contained database, or does it need server and/or rely on external FMP databases? And what target platforms did you have in mind?
If it's the former, then it's just a matter of recreating the app in LC, which is definitely doable for all platforms and can be done fairly quickly I'd think... There is practically nothing interface-wise or functionally that can't be done as well as, or better than FMP (not to diminish FMP, it does what it does very well and is a pleasure to develop in, but it has a more limitations, and not in the least is now much more expensive and removing the ability to create standalones was a blow to devs using it for this purpose).
if it's the latter (i.e. being able to use FMS backend) then that would need more specialised help... LC do have a product (LCFM) that builds app like this but it won't build for Windows.

Stam

Re: Looking for advice/programmer on recreating a FM app in LC
Recent versions of FMS use a REST API, so should be relatively easy to build for in LC or just about anything else that consumes REST.
