Is XAVVI already a product? What company owns it? What is being proposed, such as, creating a way for LC to interact with XAVVI?
There are too many posts for me to read them all in this thread. I am vision impaired. So please don’t get too snarky

Re: URL of audio or video playing
if you know the URL then you can scrape the HTML and get at it that way. In my question, I should have specified that the web page may have multiple videos or audio files embedded. When one starts playing, is there a way to find out the URL of that particular file? I assume that you mean “if you kn...

URL of audio or video playing
When displaying a web page, in a browser widget, that has an embedded audio or video file, when that audio file or video starts playing, is there a way to find it’s URL, copy it and save to the clipboard? Not the URL of the web page but rather the URL of the media file.

LiveCode Global 2021-Beginner and Advanced
In the past, when there have been LC online courses, there have also been boards, here on the forum site, so that the students and sometime the teachers could answer our questions. It would be great for those of us that just cannot make it to the classes in real time. We are able to watch the videos...

Internet access
I now live in Costa Rica. Internet access is frequently unavailable at my house...many places in Costa Rica, really. It is on-off-on frequently. Is there a command or function in LC that can check the status of a connection while the app is running in the background? This would be for all platforms....

Re: Protected Code license
if you use the Community edition of LiveCode, then the open source license basis mean that you must make the source code of any apps you create with it available to the end user. What I have never understood about this is: How do you know if an app is created with LC Community version vs any other ...

Re: Voice activation
Could you use an Apple Airtag? Perhaps. I could clip it to my pajamas. But, again, this is only for Apple. And, I am not sure if the motion detection info is available to anything other than the “Find My” app. If adding hardware is okay, external motion detectors may be an option. Trying to underst...

Re: Voice activation
.I have never done this, but check out Monte's "Merg" gadgets in the dictionary, especially the "mergMicrophoneStartRecording" command
Thanks. “Merg” is for iOS only, I think. I would want to have an Android version of the app since that is what I have for a phone. I do have an iPad too.

Re: Voice activation
Periodic recording of ambient sound to send to the OS servers for further processing isn't a choice, it's just how voice control systems work. Thanks. I did not know that. I wonder if motion detection might be a less invasive option. I can’t see that working unless it is an app for the Apple watch....

Re: Voice activation
That is creepy. No, I do not want to record anything. I would even make sure that the app only responds if it is running in the foreground. It would be an app that wakes the user up if they are talking in their sleep. Sometimes...I also sleepwalk and that is extremely dangerous. Sleep walking, for m...

Voice activation
Looking for guidance about sounds and LiveCode. For instance, is voice activation possible? Example, if my app is running and I say something, can the app send out a “beep” to show that it can respond. If this is possible, is there a way for a LC app to, usually, distinguish between voices vs other ...

Embedded control system software
I am trying to understand and find out sources of information to learn about "embedded control system software". Just the VERY basics at the moment. For instance, my microwave. What language is commonly used for something like this? What is used as the Interpreter? Can LiveCode be used for writing t...
